RESEARCH

The pine extract drink has been analyzed at the University of Turku

Tests were run at the University of Turku in order to find out whether there is scienti-fic proof for what ancient folklore has always known. Recently, researchers have found increasing evidence showing that the extracts used by natural healers were strong antioxidants. This also applies to the pine extract drink of Ravintorengas: its level of antioxidants is very high, states Professor Kalevi Pihlaja from the University of Turku, Finland.

Antioxidants are compounds that that are known, at least in some cases, to prevent the harmful effects of free radicals that are formed in oxidation reactions in the body. According to the literature, flavonoids and phenolic compounds, also found in the pine extract drink, have various positive effects on health.

Based on the chemical research carried out and the experience of the people using the drink, the positive effects of the pine extract drink on health are not a matter of faith. The drink is definitely worth trying, and its continuous use is not harmful, says Professor Pihlaja.
